The Sociopolitical Stage Play “Hispaniolove” is Coming to Miami’s Little Haiti Cultural Center April 15 – April 17
Hispaniolove is a play that explores the sociopolitical tensions between Haiti and the Dominican Republic through a culturally modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet in which the two families personify the strained relations between the two countries. Tackling the struggles of Haitians and Dominicans on the sister island, the story revolves around two lovers living in the midst of bigotry. Hispaniolove is a celebration of the joint history and culture of the island of Hispaniola. The trilingual production serves as a medium to help communities embrace diversity and unity.
