Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson to Host Forum on How to Help African-American Boys Avoid the School-to-Prison Pipeline
On Friday, September 14, 2018, Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (FL-24) will serve as the honorary host of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Braintrust: Who Will Teach Him to Be a Man? at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 48th Annual Legislative Conference. The forum also will feature a screening of excerpts from Starz network’s new docuseries, America to Me.
Who: Moderated by Rev. Al Sharpton, the panel will feature Marcus Bright, PhD, 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project; Steve James, director of America to Me; Cedric Alexander, PhD, National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives; J.D. Patterson, former Miami-Dade County police director; actor/activist Erika Alexander; George Ray, III, a contestant on BET Networks’ The Grand Hustle.
