Reflecting on “AHa” Moments from Oprah’s The Life You Want Tour:

Because of my upbringing, I’ve just believed in always working and being productive. Growing up, during the summers, my parents did not believe that children could just sleep all day and watch tv all day. During summer break, my parents had me and my sisters doing household work like washing outside windows, scrubbing floors, cleaning out closets, cleaning out the garage…SOMETHING! I HATED SUMMER BREAK!

Now older and wiser, I realized how it has transferred to my adult life and how I am always on the go, I’m always trying to be productive. I’m always working on some project, attending some event or conference. And it just hit me during the Oprah’s The Life You Want Tour, the power of just being STILL and being SILENT. It’s amazing how much you can hear when we are still and quiet.  Today I vow to take more time in being still and being quiet through prayer and meditation. It’s one of the best ways to rejuvenate your spirit.
