Biography: CEO of Uppity & Urban, Cortez E. Jackson is a professional stylist with a passion for coordinating apparel. Jackson views getting dressed as canvass of expression that allows him to practices his artistry each day. Jackson grew up in the City of St. Louis, MO and was inspired by his weekly mall visits as a child. He enjoyed watching the displays change from season to season as well as the mannequins. He enjoyed it so much that when he became of age to work he hounded Macy’s to hire him as a Sales Associate after two failed attempts. While working there he took being a Sales Associate to a new level. He would change the visual teams end caps to what he thought looked best for the season and personal shop for a clientele that he began to build.

Currently, Jackson works for a Fortune 500 company in sales and his zeal continues to burn for the fashion industry. His style can be summed up in three words; The Perfect Gentlemen. He’s not afraid of various hues, patterns or materials. When asked how he describes fashion, Jackson says, ” Fashion is silence concealed in ornamented confidence whispered BOLDLY.
