Last year’s Jazz in the Gardens scored a record-breaking 73,000 people in attendance, with a top lineup including Maxwell, Toni Braxton and R. Kelly to name a few. The 11th Annual Jazz in the Gardens is expected to surpass attendees expectations with additional artist to be announced soon.
The City of Miami Gardens was born in 2003, the then City Council sought to create a signature event for the largest predominantly African-American municipality in Florida, which is also the third largest in the United States. In 2006, the City of Miami Gardenspresented the inaugural Jazz in the Gardens, an intimate jazz-only festival featuring food and music, setting the foundation for the decade-long, signature experience that followed, adding R&B to the lineup. In response to the popularity of the festival, the City of Miami Gardens has added two events to the JITG Weekend: The Women’s Impact Conference & Luncheon (WICL) and Opening Night Party.

The City of Miami Gardens celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2013. Miami Gardens is the 33rd city in Miami-Dade County. With a population of approximately 110,000, it is the third largest city in Miami-Dade County. Miami Gardens is a solid, working and middle class community of unique diversity. It is the largest predominantly African-American municipality in Florida and boasts many Caribbean and Hispanic residents. The City hosted the 2010 FedEx Orange Bowl, the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl™, Super Bowl XLIV™, 2013 Orange Bowl and 2013 BCS National Championship game.
