L.E.A.D. Nation To Host South Florida Youth Summit, March 14

Free interactive Youth Summit for middle and high school students

MIAMI, FL (March 2, 2015) – On March 14, 2015 at 9AM L.E.A.D. Nation will host the 3rd Annual South Florida Youth Summit (SFYS) presented by Miami-Dade North Campus, located at 11380 NW 27th Avenue in Miami, FL. The free event will feature a number of highly-engaging workshops along with breakfast provided by Planned Parenthood and lunch that will be provided by Wal-Mart.

This year’s workshop topics will include music production, science, technology, leadership and life skills. SFYS will allow youth to become active participants in creating positive social change in their communities through the workshops. Workshops will also be available for all adults who attend. “Through the South Florida Youth Summit, we continue to expose middle and high school students to unique opportunities that provide a different outlook on career choices,” said Benjamin Evans Chair of South Florida Youth Summit. “Our goal is to develop well-rounded youth who are equipped with the tools needed to become successful leaders in our community.”

#HACKTOTHEFUTURE is a component of the South Florida Youth Summit and an ongoing initiative to expose students in the tri-county area to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) trainings. The initiative was developed by L.E.A.D. Nation, a community-based nonprofit organization focused on inspiring youth to become leaders in their community by providing the necessary training needed for success. Youth will pair with technologists, developers, designers and community leaders to focus on building apps, digital tools and robotics centered on education, environmental sustainability, financial literacy, music, entertainment and health/wellness.
